§ 01
In short
COLLINGWOOD RESEARCH LLC is responsible for the personal information described here. It comes from the enrolment form and from any emails you send us, and we use it to talk with you about a course and then to teach the one you join. We never sell it, and this site uses no advertising or analytics cookies.
If you'd like your details removed, write to [email protected]. We'll delete them, keeping only what tax and business-record laws require us to hold.
§ 02
What we collect
What you tell us. The enrolment form asks for your name, email address and phone number, and, if you choose, your organisation, role and country. You can also tell us what you hope to learn. Anything else you share by email or during the introductory chat becomes part of the same record.
What our servers record. Like any website, ours keeps standard access logs: an IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser's user agent. We use these for security and fixing faults, and keep them only briefly.
What we don't collect. No advertising cookies, third-party trackers, session recordings or fingerprinting, and no sensitive information such as health data. Card details never reach us; a payment provider handles invoices and payments for us.
§ 03
How we use it
- To reply to your request and arrange the introductory chat, within one working day.
- To run the course you've paid for: session invitations, materials, recordings and your tutor's feedback.
- To issue invoices and keep the financial records a US business must keep.
- To answer your questions and, now and then, tell past students about a new course. You can stop those messages with a one-line reply.
§ 05
How long we keep it
- Requests that don't lead to enrolment: up to twelve months, then deleted.
- Records for enrolled students: for as long as you might reasonably want your course materials, and no longer than we can justify.
- Invoices and financial records: for as long as US federal and Kentucky tax rules require, usually up to seven years.
- Server logs: deleted on a rolling basis, within weeks.
§ 06
Your choices and rights
Whoever and wherever you are, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to send you a copy. Write to [email protected] and we'll reply within thirty days. There's no form to fill in and no charge for a reasonable request.
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as those of your US state, the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR may give you further rights, including the right to complain to a data protection authority. We will honour those rights, though we'd be grateful for the chance to put things right first.
§ 07
Keeping it safe
Traffic to this site is encrypted. Only the people who need enrolment records to run a course can see them, and every service account we use is protected by multi-factor authentication. No system is perfect, though: if a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you what happened, what we know and what we're doing about it, as the law requires.
§ 08
Children
Our courses are for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us personal information, please let us know and we will delete it.
§ 09
Where information is kept
COLLINGWOOD RESEARCH LLC is based in the United States, at 851 Corporate Drive, Lexington, KY 40503, United States. Our providers mainly store information in the United States. If you write to us from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and kept in the United States, and where the law asks for a safeguard for such a transfer, we use an appropriate one.
§ 11
Changes to this policy
The date at the top changes whenever this policy does. If a change materially affects how we treat information we already hold about you, we'll email you rather than expecting you to come back and check.
